ISI Shootists

                                  About ISI Shootists

ISI Shootists, on most Saturdays at its facilities near Piru, in Ventura County, California (Map), is committed to promoting the practical shooting sports. It hosts shooting competitions at the highest level in a fun, friendly, encouraging and supportive environment. Its matches encompass WCS (West Coast Steel) speed steel shooting, Compact & Revolver and IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) scenario based defensive pistol shooting, and ZEV ISI Speed Gun strategic problem based speed biased practical shooting.

     are joined by

as the premier sponsors for these monthly matches.

Participation in these matches does not require membership in their respective Associations, however,  shooters are encouraged to choose the organization of their chosen discipline to support and perpetuate the shooting sports.

Through a classification system, individuals shooting in these matches compete on the same level against other competitors with comparable shooting experience and skills. Quite often some of the top competitors in the world shoot at ISI Shootists, giving you the opportunity to see them shoot and experience shooting the same course of fire.

Generally, the sequence in which the match stages are shot, the groups with which they choose to shoot each stage, and the total time which they take to shoot the match is largely up to each of them.

Participants at the ZEV ISI Speed Gun and IDPA matches are entered in a drawing for prizes to be raffled at a shooters meeting held around 10:00 a.m. on the monthly match days. At each WCS and Compact & Revolver match, participants will be entered in a drawing for  a Turner's Outdoorsman gift certificate. The winners will be notified by social media following each of the matches.

Participants at ISI monthly matches are entered into a year end drawing (held the following January) to win  Glock  handguns. For one of these guns, the participants do not need to be present to win.

ISI Shootists implemented electronic scoring in June for the Briley West Coast Steel Championships. In July 2015, Mike Dalton decided not to continue to use PractiScore for the ZEV ISI Speed Gun and WCS monthly matches, but it will be used for the 2016 Briley West Coast Steel Championships.

The ISI Shootists PractiScore Guide is now available!

                             RANGE CLOSURE NOTICE (posted12/7/2016)

Hi Everyone,

Due to loosing the lease on our range, it is with tremendous regret that we are forced to cancel the 2017 Briley WCSC.

Jim and Mike would like to express their most heartfelt thanks to all of the match staff, sponsors, competitors, and friends who have made the past 6 editions of the Briley WCSC the fun, family oriented event that its been, and one which put a smile on everyones face. May you always shoot straight, fast and safely.

We will be hosting our last three ISI Shootists matches this month (DEC 2016). The Compact/Revolver this Saturday, ZEV Speedgun on the 17th where we will award the Custom Zev Glock pistol valued at over $2000, and the farewell IDPA match on December 24th where we will award three guns from Turner’s Outdoorsman and a Glock pistol from ISI.  One gun you will not need to be present to win but the other three will be awarded to lucky folks in attendance.

The Match Results for these last 3 matches will be posted 12/29/2016.

This closure is sudden and is due to litigation that ended in the termination of our long term property lease last Friday.  The required new lease has conditions that are unacceptable to us and with all things considered, it is time for retirement.

I was planning on retiring within a few years anyway as the work load and responsibilities have been tougher to bear as I have gotten older.  This new development has just moved up my time table.

I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the remaining matches.  I want to thank each and every one of you for all of your support of our program over the years.

The action shooting sports are alive and well and have a bright future, so keep on shooting.

Take care and God Bless,

                               Mike, Marilyn and Steve
